Life deserted, your courage never fled. You bore the pain in silence. Eluded in a tear you never shed. Bitter sweet traditions kept by the ones you left. Our connection shattered by the sequence of existence ending, only memories transcend. The parade continues east, it feels like anything but real. The hoof beats of the cavalcade are the only pulse I feel. As I sat by your bedside valor was plucked from my core. I broke as you bore the pain in silence once more. The sun's shaft of light breaks through the seams in the sky, but will never reach my skin. Time moves on without me, I've missed my train again. Our laughter is stifled by nothing, our memories bled , together we were more than spectators in our live’s endeavors. Like a void that casts a shadow. Your absence is exposed. Time will just move forward. Our fears will go untold. Dread stifled by laughter, our memories grow old. I carry on without you my, heart turns hard and cold. “Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The Lone Ranger rides again!”

Shroud 01:55
Compound our worth with a pharmaceutical drug. Profound, unsound, and never lost just bound. To the slates under the rug. Short changed lives, left to rust unfound. If this is all there is, we are doing it wrong. Pacified by lies and no one even tries. A pulse less routine mechanical and numb. Under the banal shroud, our decency dies. Cynicism is forgiven, spoiled roads never driven. Regret the future, fuck the present. Humankind isn't pleasant. Unwelcome mediations leave us feeling vacant. Enough dejection manifests inherently. Refute an exhausted heritage gone complacent. Without these tenets we are truly free. Erase it from your mind, that's fine. Hollow commodities exchanged for time.

Balcony 05:33
Knowing everyone’s in the same boat makes you calm. This contagious convalescence keeps you rowing towards the storm. Passing time in your prime. No cause for alarm. Gazing down safe and sound. Living life free from harm. Can’t cry over milk you didn’t spill. I promise you, young bones always heal. Stress beneath the fractures, leave undetermined factors. Your endeavors aren’t wasted. When fear is all you’ve tasted. Just accept you’ll leave here unfulfilled. From the balcony the flag you wave goes unnoticed. You drop the anvil to make a crash only to see it become ribbons of ash. Impassive efforts make no splash. From the balcony your declaration remains unheard. Every breath negated when contentment for life, is traded. Query: “How contrive not to waste ones time?” Answer: “By being fully aware of it all the while.” -Albert Camus

about

SPLIT EXPLANATION :
Thematically and concretely, this record
was a dialectic. A convergence of two
different philosophies and lifestyles from two (somewhat) different bands. Whether religious or secular, political or not, the art and music manifest like a conversation that shakes the original approaches taken at the beginning of creating it. We've grown and learned so much from doing this record together. But aside from us, we hope it'll inspire new conversation, new friendships, and new bands that are willing to confront the issues they see in their lives. So keep confronting, keep struggling, and keep fighting. Long live the 801. - Brett Barrett
